Gloss is optional here, but overly slick red is a little too edgy for our tastes (and for the record, way harder to keep perfect!). Liner matters here.. if you're not well-versed in a red application, pick a very close match to your actual shade. This is more for precision than actual color. And as the red starts to rub off (it will), your pout will still look stained in the original shade. Pick a shade of red that suits your skin tone - there are a variety to choose from.

Also, keep the rest of your look mininal - soft cheeks are nice, and play up your eyes just a little. Make the red your focal point.
