Welcome to a new Trend Report: Sunglasses for Fall/Winter 2008

We have been asked lately if you can still wear your over-sized sunglasses, or those sharp aviators from the past season. The answer is most definitely yes! Those styles are still current (especially if they suit your face!), but if you're looking for a NEW look, we have the perfect trend selection for you.

While oversized black frames have a Jackie O vibe about them, frame colors have started to lighten up considerably. Pale shades (yes, for Fall!) have made their mark, in some unusual colors. These Barton Perreira pink frames are feminine & unique - love these Oliver Peoples slender red shades, and even Tom Ford has eased up on statement frames with the launch of some soft & brown gold variations of his sunglass collection. And by all means, if you don't have tortoiseshell frames in your own sunglass collection, we highly recommend you add a pair this season.

Frames themselves are more slender, and the way farer style continues to be important (check out the Ralph Lauren version below in tortoiseshell). There have been some significant new entries into the world of sunglasses: Jimmy Choo, Michele (the art-deco style recently worn by Katie Holmes), and our new favorite, Linda Farrow Luxe (which is an expansion collection by this vintage design house relaunched in 2003).
